Mary Nell Harper Davis, age 99, of Dawson, Alabama, passed from this earthly life on December 22, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Birmingham, Alabama, A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Geraldine Funeral Home in Geraldine, AL with Visitation at 12 noon and Services at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Jeff Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Geraldine, AL. Nell was born December 16, 1921, in Carroll County, GA, to parents Monroe and Mary Harper. She married Starling Houston Davis on December 22, 1940. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and seven siblings. Sisters Lucille (Erven) Harris, Vena (T.L.) Gilley, Mickie (Grady) Rinehart, Willene (Julian) Ritter, Noma (Leon) Townsel. Brothers Duard (Violet) Harper, Emory (Ruth) Harper, and chosen grandchild Chad Bodine. She is survived by sons, Tyrone (Mary) Davis, Ronnie (Rita) Davis, daughter Sonja (Howard) Newman; grandchildren, Pam (Tim) Redden, Jeff (Michelle) Davis, Jason (Lidia) Davis. Chosen grandchildren Donna (Sammy) Isbell, Brenda (Jeff) Davis, Tim (Carman) Anders, Karen Anders, Randy Anders, and Trey (Jessica) Newman. Sister Jetta (Ray) Carson. She was blessed with many great-grandchildren, great great-gandchildren, nephews and nieces. Great grandchildren, Cody Rains, Christopher Davis, Mitchell Davis, Harper Scarborough, Brooklyn Davis, John Evan Davis, Dillon Boatwright, and Brad Bodine. will serve as Pallbearers, Her Nieces and Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the Skirum UMC Building Fund, or the charity of your choice. We will adhere to all COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and wearing masks.
